Can adults come to class?

Yes, parents/carers are able to stay and watch during the Ignite and Glow sessions. Parents/carers are required to stay and support for the Spark Class. Classes are grouped by need and recommended age ranges — book the class that fits you or your family member. If you are unsure which class to try, contact Abi and the team before booking a taster. We also offer an adult's dance / fitness workout class called 'Broadway Workout' for adults of all ages! This is perfect for adults wanting to get fit whilst having fun and learning simple tracks and routines to musical theatre tunes!!

Free car park at Blaby & District Social Centre & Village Hall, Leicester Road, Blaby, Leicester, LE8 4GQ. Please arrive a few minutes early so everyone is ready to start.

Comfortable clothes you can move in (leggings or joggers, t-shirt). Bare feet or trainers are fine. Bring a water bottle. Hair tied back for safety.

Inclusive dance for children aged 5–13 with special educational needs and disabilities who can engage in small group activities and follow spoken instructions with teacher support. A parent or carer may stay if that helps — please chat with Abi and the team about individual needs before you book a taster.

Taster classes and refunds

Book a taster on ClassManager. Trials are non-refundable — please only book if the dancer can attend. If a class looks full or you need help choosing, email Abi and the team or message us on Instagram or Facebook.

Additional needs or access requirements

Please tell Abi and the team before you book a taster — for example allergies, medical needs, sensory or mobility support, or anxiety triggers — so we can welcome every dancer safely.

Hello, I'm Abi

Founder & Principal Dance Teacher

I am Founder and Principal Dance Teacher of You Can Dance Academy!
International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) Level 4 Diploma in Dance Teaching.
I am also a qualified Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist. I support children and young people with their communication skills within mainstream and special schools.
I have many years of experience teaching dance to children.
I coached and performed in the University Pom Cheer team. We competed in regional and national competitions!

I can't wait to welcome you all to the dance family!

Hello, I'm Emma

Principal Dance Teacher

I am the principal dance teacher at You Can Dance Academy.
International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) Level 4 Diploma in Dance Teaching.
I have 15+ years of experience in dancing and performing and am trained in Ballet, Modern and Musical Theatre.
I hold a first class degree in Musical Theatre from the University of Chichester where I performed in numerous well-known productions and starred in a World Premiere.

I can't wait to welcome you all to the dance family!
